WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A BOY SCOUT?
*A boy must be 11 years old, or must have completed the fifth grade. Alternatively, a boy must have earned the Arrow of Light and be at least 10 years old. A boy must be under the age of 18.
MY SON HAS DISABILITIES, CAN HE PARTICIPATE IN THE BOY SCOUT PROGRAM?
*YES! For rank advancements and merit badges, there are alternative requirements for boys with disabilities.
I WOULD LIKE TO BE AN ADULT VOLUNTEER OR LEADER, HOW DO I START?
*Just go to a meeting of your choice and talk to the adults there. There are many ways that parents and other adults can contribute to the Boy Scout program!
HOW OFTEN DO YOU MEET?
*During the school year, our troop typically meets once a week.

*We meet at Keith Memorial Methodist Church in Athens, TN

MY SON WANTS TO KNOW IF BOY SCOUTS DO ANYTHING "FUN", WHAT KINDS OF THINGS DO BOY SCOUTS DO?
*Our troop has regular camp outs and also attend camporees. During these events, the boys learn and practice many different skills including campfire cooking, first aid, swimming skills, boating, hiking, orienteering, etc. Boys also participate in many different community service projects throughout the year. Summer brings the opportunity to attend Camp Buck Tom's which is considered one of the finest Boy Scout camps in the United States. The camp has programs for every boy from the first time campers up to the most experienced older campers. Boys work on merit badges and craft projects and have a great time! Our regular meetings teach skills needed for rank adbancement and offer boys a chance to learn and bond.
